Aim of the course

The main aim of the course is to provide participant with a step-by-step introduction to setting up a real business venture and familiarize them with the nature of entrepreneurship. During the first classes participants form a group and are required to come up with a business idea, which will be subsequently developed at the each next class. In the end groups are required to submit a business plan and deliver a professional business pitch before the panel of external experts.

Description of the course

Course will cover all subjects related to setting up a new venture, such as:

  1. Why start your own business?
  2. Business idea
  3. Feasibility analysis
  4. Industry and competitor analysis
  5. Developing an effective business model
  6. Preparing the proper ethical and legal foundation
  7. Assessing a new venture’s financial strength and viability
  8. Building a new venture team
  9. Getting financing or funding
  10. Final presentation

 

Methods of teaching

"New Venture creation" course will be conducted based on a range of innovative and experimental teaching methods. All activities will be focused on the final project i.e. setting up a new venture whose future prospects will be assessed by a panel of experts from the business world. Participants will have to work on real business data using up your computer software, Internet and modern analytical tools (eg . "Mind maps"). Classes will be interactive including external guest presentations and large amounts of group work.
