Aim of the course

Major aim of this course is to inspire participants, and encourage them to realize their ideas, create their own projects, ventures or enterprises on an international scale. In addition, the objective of the course is to equip the students with necessary knowledge, master skills, and social competences necessary for launching international operations within the context of young and small firms (e.g. knowledge about formal and informal environments of international business operations, knowledge of methods of entering an international market, knowledge of the impact of international business on the local market,

methods and tools of collecting and analyzing the data across the countries, skills related to identifying market opportunities for internationalization through analysis of the changes, analyzing and interpreting factors which influence the process of internationalization of the business, evaluating the attractiveness of new market opportunity, competences related to establish and develop relational ties with foreign partners).

Description of the course

Participants will work in diverse teams on the real projects relevant to their interests. They will have an opportunity to create their own international project, venture, or prepare a strategy of internationalization of existing enterprise, taking into consideration all necessary aspects of foreign markets, e.g. formal and informal institutions. Strong emphasis will be placed on enhancing the international competitiveness of the projects, including the use of ICT and innovative solutions.

International environment: characteristics, trends, markets, institutions, cross-cultural management

Entering an international market, internationalization of business

Identifying opportunities. Methods, tools, data sources.

The role of ICT in international entrepreneurship

International business negotiations/ projects presentations


Methods of teaching

Various methods and techniques will be used during interactive lectures and workshops, e.g. case study analyzing, team working, brainstorming, visioning exercises, value proposition creating. In order to enhance creativity, collaboration, and active participation, arts-based initiatives will be used (elements of filmmaking, performance, comic jams etc.).
